What is Form?

Our starting question sought to understand how well active people understood how their bodies move and what their main goals were when partaking in physical activities. Research became the backbone for all product development, helping us define our initial use case and target user, build feature roadmaps and plan our prototype user testing.

The kit consists of smart leggings, a detachable hub and a companion app for your phone.

The smart leggings contain 7 embedded sensor nodes for a total of 27 sensors that capture the movement of the bottom half of your body, from the waist down, in real time. Detach the hub and throw the leggings in the washer/dryer like any other pair of leggings you own.

The hub powers the sensors and can be easily detached for charging. Once the data from the sensors has reached the hub, it is streamed to the companion app on your phone for processing into metrics and insights. The UX of the hub was kept as simple as possible, communicating key functions through an LED and haptics.

The app aimed to answer a user's 3 core questions based on their main goals when engaging in fitness activities (to avoid injuries and improve performance).
